Berhampur: Miscreants allegedly hurled crude bombs at a police team during a raid in Srikshetra Vihar area of Berhampur city in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Wednesday.
No police personnel was injured in the attack, while the police have detained five persons in this connection.
Sources said the incident took place when a team of police personnel visited Srikshetra Vibat under the jurisdiction of Bada Bazar police station of the city for a raid in connection with a case.
A case was registered at Bada Bazaar police station following a complaint that crude bombs were hurled at a house late on Tuesday night.
The police team went to carry out a raid in Srikshetra Vihar area to nab the accused persons. However, the accused persons hurled bombs at the police team.
Thereafter, a special team was formed to apprehend the accused persons and five persons, including two women, have so far been detained. They are being interrogated.
