Flyover collapse: Panda Infra chief surrenders, taken into custody

Bhubaneswar: After arresting Works Department deputy executive engineer Bansidhar Praharaj, police here on Monday took into custody Pratap Panda, the chief of Panda Infra engaged in construction of Bomikhal flyover that collapsed the previous day killing one person and injuring 11.

Panda surrendered before Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi following which he was arrested. He will be forwarded to court after recording of his statement, said Police Commissioner Y B Khurania.

The office of the company at Vivekananda Marg here was sealed earlier in the day.

A case has been registered against Pratap Panda, Sujata Panda and Santosh Panda– three members of the Board of Directors of Panda Infra– under Sections 304, 337, 338 and 34 of IPC at Laxmisagar police station in connection with the bridge collapse.
