Bomikhal Flyover Collapse: Court Grants Conditional Bail To Panda Infra Owner

Bhubaneswar: A month after his arrest following the collapse of a portion of an under-construction flyover in Bomikhal area in Bhubaneswar, the court of the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) on Monday granted conditional bail to Pratap Panda, owner of Panda Infra company.

The court granted conditional bail to Panda against a surety of Rs 50,000.

It, however, directed Panda not to influence any of the witnesses and appear before the local police station every 15 days.

The commissionerate police had arrested Panda on May 4 a day after the tragic mishap took place in which one labourer Ajay Bhumich (38) of Lathikata in Sundargarh district succumbed to his injuries while another labourer Anand Nayak, was shifted to AMRI Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Since the day of his arrest, Panda was lodged in the Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar.
