Bonded Labourer’s Dead Body Denied Entry To Village

Kalahandi: A clash broke out between two groups at Harijana Pada of Tulapada village under Narla block in Kalahandi district on Thursday after one of the groups protested against the entry of a dead body to the village due to the ongoing preparations for the Nuakhai festival.

The deceased youth, identified as Hemanta Nag belongs to Tulapada village of the district.

According to sources, he was working as a bonded labourer in Gujarat and had gone for Dadana. He died there few days ago due to unknown reasons.

His body was brought to Tulapada in an ambulance on Thursday.

However, some villagers did not allow the ambulance to enter the village.

The altercation that broke out intensified into a clash between the two groups.

Getting information, Narla police reached the village and brought the situation under control.
