Bhubaneswar: Noted filmmaker Boney Kapoor and Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The two celebrities called on the Chief Minister in his chamber in the Assembly building and invited him for the upcoming Celebrity Cricket League (CLL) to be held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
After meeting Majhi, they said they invited the Chief Minister to attend the event as chief guest on February 16. Four teams from Mumbai, Punjab, Bhojpuri and Bengal are slated to participate the cricket league.
Punjab De Sher, Bhojpuri Dabangg, Mumbai Heroes and Bengal Tigers teams will be playing in the CLL, said Boney Kapoor. Both the cine personalities expressed the hope that people of Odisha will thoroughly enjoy the event.
Kapoor said that Odisha has vast natural beauty and adequate facilities for film shooting. If these are promoted, Odisha will become a preferred film shooting location for many filmmakers. Along with this, he said that tourism in the state will also increase.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and members of the cabinet and MLAs were present during the meeting.
