Jajpur: Inmates and staff of Jajpur sub-jail had a narrow escape after a large portion of its boundary wall collapsed on Friday night following incessant rain.
Though no casualty or injury has been reported in the mishap. A few toilets of the jail have been badly damaged.
According to sources, the incident took place at around 2 am when the all the inmates were sleeping inside the hall.
However, locals alleged that the jail was constructed way back in 1912 and its boundary wall collapsed due to lack of maintenance. They also demanded an inquiry into the incident.
