New Delhi: All eyes are on Ranbir Kapoor with the release of ‘Shamshera’ on Friday. The actor is coming back on the screen after four years. His co-stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt went all out to promote the Karan Malhotra directorial. Shamshera will be released on 4,350 screens across India, the first Hindi film post-pandemic to record this count.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared an update about Shamshera’s screen count on his Twitter handle. Compared to films like Samrat Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Sooryavanshi and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Shamshera will be releasing on a greater number of screens across the country.
“#Xclusiv… YRF GOES ALL OUT FOR ‘SHAMSHERA’ HAS HIGHEST SCREEN COUNT, *POST-PANDEMIC* #Shamshera: 4350 #SamratPrithviraj: 3750 #83TheFilm: 3741 #Sooryavanshi: 3519 #BhoolBhulaiyaa2: 3200 Jayeshbhai Jordaar: 2250 NOTE: #India screen count. HINDI films,” Adarsh wrote.
Speaking exclusively with IndiaToday.in, Taran Adarsh predicted that Shamshera is likely to collect Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore on its opening day.
“Hopefully, the opening day should be between Rs 15 to 20 crore. That’s very important. It is a respectable total for day one. As these are post-pandemic times and it is very different now. It has to come up to that level. It’s very important for Ranbir as well as YRF. YRF had three back-to-back disasters. It started with Bunty Aur Babli 2, followed by Jayeshbhai Jordaar and much recent Samrat Prithviraj, so I hope they are lucky the fourth time,” he said.
