Phulbani: In a tragic incident, a four-year-old boy died after accidentally swallowing a small plastic toy that came inside a packet of chips at a village in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Wednesday.
As per information, the incident took place at Mus
umaha Pada near Shikaramaha village under the jurisdiction of Brahmanigaon police station of the district.
Sources said the child’s father Ranjit Pradhan had brought a packet of chips for him. While playing with a toy gun that was inside the packet, the child accidentally swallowed it. As the toy got stuck in his throat, he faced difficulty in breathing and his condition became critical.
After being unable to remove the toy, his parents rushed him to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Daringbadi. However, doctors at the health centre declared him dead.
Doctors said the toy had blocked the child’s airway, leading to the unfortunate incident.
