Bhubaneswar: The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) has issued fresh guidelines for online final semester exams for the 2019-20 academic year. The new guidelines were issued after an extraordinary meeting of the board of management on July 6.
Online final semester examination for 70 marks theory questions
—Considering the internet connectivity and speed, the duration shall be 2 hours and 30 minutes in lieu of 2 hours.
—A candidate can attempt all 120 multiple choice open book, innovative, and outcome-based questions and only the correct 70 answers shall be considered for awarding final mark limiting the full marks to 70. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers or questions not attempted.
Online final semester examination for 100 marks theory questions
—Considering the internet connectivity and speed, the duration shall be 3 hours in lieu of 2 hours.
—A candidate can attempt all 150 multiple choice open book, innovative and outcome-based questions and only the correct 100 answers shall be considered for awarding final mark limiting to the full marks to 100. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers or questions not attempted.
Time schedule of final semester examination
1st sitting: 10 am to 12.30 pm for 70 theory marks and 10 am to 1 pm for 100 theory marks.
2nd Sitting: 2 pm to 4.30 pm for 70 theory marks and 2 pm to 5 pm for 100 theory marks.
Students residing in remote, rural and hilly areas who apprehend poor internet connectivity and speed or power issues, may carry his/her own laptop to his/her own college if in the home district, or nearby government polytechnics/ITI’s notified as centres to appear for the online test where internet connectivity and power supply are available.
