Bhubaneswar: The students of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) on Monday staged a gherao of the official residence of the Skill Development and Technical Education Minister, Premananda Nayak, to demand the conduct of the final semester examinations.
The students urged the minister to instruct the BPUT authorities to conduct the final semester in offline mode as several students could not appear the online examinations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agitating students also demanded the postponement of the OJEE counseling date immediately.
They withdrew the agitation after the minister assured them of resolving their demands within a week.
