Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday granted bail to IAS officer and former director, Horticulture, Bijay Ketan Upadhyay.
The court also directed the lower court to decide the terms and condition of the bail.
The Vigilance had arrested the 2009-batch IAS officer on December 30 last year for allegedly demanding Rs 1 lakh bribe from an empanelled sprinkler irrigations systems supplier for passing a bill of Rs 50 lakh. The relationship manager of YES Bank, Santosh Kumar Pattanayak, was also apprehended for allegedly accepting the Rs 1 lakh bribe on behalf of Upadhyaya.
Following his arrest, the state government had suspended him.
