Angul: It is a scene right out of a Bollywood masala movie. A bride eloped with her boyfriend four days after marriage, leaving the groom waiting on the reception day, at Kangula area in Odisha’s Angul district.
As per sources, after their marriage they couple returned to the groom’s house. The bride’s younger sister had also accompanied them. On Thursday, four days after the wedding, the newly-wed girl eloped with her boyfriend.
As preparations had started for the reception party and guests were to drop in, in a few hours, the girl’s parents were informed. They reached the groom’s house and arranged his marriage with the runaway bride’s sister.
But, the matter did not end there. There was more trouble brewing for the groom after marriage with his sister-in-law. She was a minor. On a tip-off the district administration reached the spot and instructed the families about the rules. Accordingly, agreement was made with her family members that they will send her to in-law’s house only after she turns 18.
The minor girl returned to her parental house after marriage.
