Bride-To-Be Falls Off Roller Coaster In Delhi, Dies

New Delhi: A 24-year-old woman, enjoying an outing with her fiance, was killed after falling off a roller coaster at an amusement park in Delhi recently. Her family has blamed the park authorities of negligence and the police have started a probe.

According to India Today, Priyanka, who used to work as a sales manager in Chanakyapuri, was enjoying herself with her husband-to-be Nikhil at the Fun and Food Village near the Kapashera border when the accident occurred.

The couple had first enjoyed water rides before moving to the section that had a roller coaster. According to a police officer, during the roller coaster ride, when the swing reached its peak, the stand broke and Priyanka fell to the ground.

She was rushed to a hospital by Nikhil, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Nikhil informed her family and the police, who took the body away for an autopsy. The two were engaged in February and were to get married soon.

Priyanka’s brother Mohit told India Today that the park does not have adequate safety measures. He also claimed that there was delay on the part of the management to shift his sister to hospital. He claimed that the rides at the park have been suspended for maintenance after the accident.

“If there was need for maintenance, why were the rides open to the public? They were endangering people’s lives knowingly. The police needs to look into this,” Mohit said.
