Rourkela: As many as 13 villages and Rajgangpur were cut-off from the Steel City of Rourkela after a portion of the bridge, connecting Mandira Dam, collapsed on Monday.
The bridge collapse block paths, affecting transport and communication.
According to Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) authorities, the bridge collapsed under the pressure of heavy 16-wheel vehicles that ran on it.
The engineering department of Rourkela has started inspecting the bridge, sources said.
The RSP will start the repair work on Tuesday and construct a bypass road to connect the villages, the sources added.
