Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 1.91 lakh from a motorcycle dickey near Canara Bank at Uditnagar in the Steel City on Monday.
According to sources, a staffer of Beldihi petrol pump in Sundargarh had collected the cash from an office at Power House Road here. He had to deposit it in State Bank of India (SBI) Uditnagar branch. Since the bank was crowded, he went to Canara Bank’s branch in the same locality for an RTGS, keeping Rs 1.91 lakh in the dickey.
While he was at the bank, miscreants broke open the dickey and decamped with the cash. The incident took place around 1 pm.
Uditnagar police are examining the CCTV footage and began a probe, the sources added.
