Puri: The Special Task Force (STF), Bhubaneswar seized over 1 kg of brown sugar worth over Rs 1 crore near Pipili-Numapara over-bridge in Puri district and arrested one person in this connection on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the STF conducted raid near Pipili-Nimapara over-bridge and seized brown sugar weighing 1.04 kg and other incriminating materials from the possession of the accused person.
The accused will be forwarded to the court of District and Sessions Judge, Puri.
In the special drive against narcotic drugs, the STF has seized more than 35 kg of brown sugar/heroin and more than 67 quintal of ganja and arrested more than 100 drug dealers and peddlers since 2020, according to a release.
