Balasore: The Special Task Force (STF) team of the Crime Branch on Friday seized 1360 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 1.35 crore and arrested two persons during a raid in Sahadevkhunta area in Balasore districts.
The STF team, on the basis of intelligence input, conducted a raid and apprehended Manas Mukhi of Arada Bazar and Kamalkanta Das of Haripur and seized the narcotics, one stolen bike and other incriminating materials from their possession.
Two accused, against whom several criminal cases are pending in different police stations in Balasore district, will be produced in court on Saturday.
Since 2020, STF in the special drive against narcotic drugs has seized more than 30 kgs of brown sugar and more than 64 quintals (6400 kg) of ganja and arrested more than 100 drug peddlers.
