Bhubaneswar: A team of excise officials seized brown sugar worth Rs 10 lakh and arrested a drug peddler during a raid in the state capital on Monday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, the Excise officials raided the Laxmisagar area and seized 105 grams of brown sugar from Khirod Sahu, a drug peddler, while he was selling the narcotic near the Laxmisagar Chhak.
The Excise later took Sahu for interrogation.
Significantly, most of the drug peddling cases in the state capital have been reported from the Haladipadia slum in Laxmisagar area.
