Cuttack: Darghabazar police here on Wednesday busted an inter-district narcotics racket and seized 268-gram brown sugar worth Rs 27 lakh and arrested three persons.
The accused persons have been identified as Bapi, Bibekananda Jena and Gopinath Patra. “Two drug peddlers are from Niali in Cuttack district and one from Balianta near Bhubaneswar,” informed Cuttack DCP Pratik Singh.
Police also seized Rs 1.28 lakh in cash, four mobile phones, a motorcycle and a scooty from their possession.
Notably, Cuttack UPD have seized over 4 kg brown sugar worth Rs 4.8 crore in 2021.
