Brown Sugar Worth Rs 27 Lakh Seized In Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Police on Sunday seized 275 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 27 lakh and arrested six persons.

Acting on a tip-off, police detained a Tata Safari jeep and a bike near Mangala Ghat and seized 275.35 grams of brown sugar and arrested six persons.

The arrested persons were identified as Anil Baral, Krushna Bhujabal and Somnath Bhujabal from Khurda town, Babuna Nayak from Narendrakona area, Babuna Behera from Loka Sahi in Puri town and Balaram Bhoi from Khandiabandha Barabati village under Sadar Police limits.

Police later seized the jeep, one bike, one mobile phone, a pistol and a live bullet from the possession of the accused and forwarded them to the court.
