BSE Tightens Measures For Fair Conduct Of HSC Exams In Odisha

Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha has taken strong measures to prevent unfair practices and ensure smooth conduct of Matriculation examinations this year.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, BSE’s vice-president Nihar Ranjan Mohanty said the Board has decided that the entry of students to examination centres would be stopped 45 minutes before the start of the High School Certificate (HSC) examination everyday. The HSC examination is scheduled to start from February 20.

The examinees would be allowed to go inside the centres one and a half hours before the start of the examination. They would have to take seat in their allotted places 45 minutes before the start of the examination.

If the examination starts at 9 am, they would enter from 7.30 am and take seats by 8.15 am. But no student would be allowed entry after 8.15 am. This would help them find their allotted seats in the examination centre, he added.

Mohanty further said for the first time a superintendent would be appointed in each examination centre. Block Education Officers (BEOs), headmasters and headmistresses would be appointed as centre superintendents.

They would be responsible for fair and smooth conduct of the examinations. They will supervise all processes from arrival of the question papers to despatch of answer sheets. Nobody except the centre superintendents would be allowed to take mobile phones inside the examination centres, he added.
