Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Monday said it will engage 6,000 additional examiners to expedite the evaluation of the annual Matric papers beginning May 20.
BSE had earlier engaged 17,000 examiners for the evaluation which is scheduled to held at 60 centres across the state.
BSE president Ramashis Hazra and secretary Nihan Ranjan Mohanty said the examiners, who had reported at their respective centres earlier, will evaluate the papers at the same centres.
“The evaluation will be conducted with strict adherence to the lockdown guidelines like compulsory use of masks, hand sanitizers and social distancing,” the BSE president said.
“To conduct the evaluation in accordance with the social distancing norms, the evaluation will be held in three phases. The evaluation of each subject will be held in three phases and three sittings and the teachers assigned to evaluate the respective subject at the specific time allotted to them,” he added.
Stating that the evaluation work is scheduled for completion in 20 days, the BSE officials informed that the duration may be extended to 2-4 days.
Maintaining that there is no evaluation centre in the containment zones, they said that unlike the CBSE, the BSE has no provision to allow the teachers to evaluate the papers at their home.
