BSF Commandant Dies After Falling Off Bike In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: In a tragic incident, a BSF Commandant died on Sunday after falling off his bike during combing operations against Maoists in Kalimela in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.

BSF Commandant Rakesh Kumar (48) of the 76 Battalion based near MPV 21 in Kalimela had set out on bike along with other security personnel for combing operations against Maoists in nearby jungles. He fell off his bike and suffered serious injuries to his head. The incident took place at 3 am on Sunday.

He was rushed back to the BSF base, from where he was shifted to hospital in Kalimela. Doctors declared him brought dead.

Kumar was from Rajasthan. BSF sources said arrangements were being made to send his body to Rajasthan.
