Bhubaneswar: BSF IG Satish Chandra Budakoti on Wednesday took charge as the head of the Anti-Naxal Operation (ANO) in Odisha.
Budakoti took the charge from his predecessor and BSF IG Madhu Sudan Sharma at a function in the BSF headquarters here. Speaking on the occasion, Budakoti assured that BSF and Odisha Police would work together in achieving the goals.
During his 35-year tenure, Budakoti has vast experience in fighting the militants in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and north-eastern states. He had served in the elite commando force of the National Security Guard (NSG) from 2007 to 2012.
In recognition of his service, he was awarded the prestigious President Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2009.
