Koraput: Security forces unearthed a Naxal arms workshop and a cache of country-made guns in Odisha’s Koraput district.
Acting on specific information, an Anti-Naxalite Deployment (ADP) consisting of 3 sub-officers and 14 other ranks led by Inspector Sandeep Kerketta of BSF was deployed from company operating base (COB) at Sunki on Sunday.
During patroling near Alasi village, the ADP encountered two suspicious individuals in the jungle, who fled towards Andhra Pradesh border on noticing the BSF team. The security forces conducted an extensive search of the area, leading to the recovery of a substantial arsenal.
The recovered arms included one Bharmar gun (BML), a mobile phone, a hand blower, one trigger mechanism, two pliers, two hammers, one hexa blade saw, three chisels (small size), two side cutting pliers, five files, two knives, one iron bits, six gear, one wood saw, 30 gram sodium biocide and other things.
On their return, ADP party lodged an FIR and handed over all items at Sunki police station.
