BSKY Smart Cards: Puri Becomes 5th Dist To Get Health Benefit In Odisha

Puri: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday distributed smart health cards under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) among the beneficiaries at Brahmagiri in the district.

Speaking at a function, organised on the occasion, the chief minister said around 3.64 lakh people of the district will benefit from the smart health cards. They can use the cards for treatment of their family members at 200 hospitals in the country, he added.

Earlier, the chief minister had distributed the smart health cards in Malkangiri, Sundargarh, Balangir and Gajapati districts. The government aims at providing the health cards to 96 families so that over 3.5 crore people can benefit from it in the state.

Stating that Puri as a holy place has always been in the focus of the government, he outlined various flag ship programmes for its development. As part of the government’s efforts, Puri has emerged as the first town in the country to have the facility of drinking water directly from tap.

During his visit, the chief minister also laid foundation stone of different welfare projects worth over Rs 1,000 crore.

Ministers Naba Das, Ranendra Pratap Swain and Sameer Dash and MP Pinaki Mishra were present at the programmes.
