BSNL Launches WiFi Hotspot Vouchers

State-run BSNL on Friday launched recharge vouchers for accessing its WiFi hotspots throughout the country.

The company has 38,000 WiFi hotspots across 16,367 cities.  These are located at public places such as tourist sites and busy locations in the country. To increase the number of hotspots, BSNL has also partnered with WiFi provider iPass.

The recharge plans are available in the following denominations:

  1. Rs 19 (2GB for 2 days)
  2. Rs 39 (7GB for 7 days)
  3. Rs 59 (15GB for 15 days)
  4. Rs 69 (30GB for 28 days)

The company also has a dedicated website to locate hotspots and buy the coupons from.

To connect to a BSNL WiFi hotspot, users need to select BSNL WiFi on their device. They will then be directed to BSNL’s captive portal. There is a choice of free WiFi for 30 minutes and a Premium WiFi for which the above plans can be purchased. Authentication will be done by mobile OTP.
