Bhubaneswar: Taking note of media reports about its closure due to mounting losses, the public sector Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), one of the largest telecom firms in India, has termed it as a ‘rumour’.
In a release on Thursday, senior BSNL official and Chief General Manager (CGM), Odisha Circle, Udaya Shankar Panda said that the reports published in the media are utterly baseless and irrelevant.
“This is an attempt by a group of companies having vested interests to malign BSNL which is the largest network in the country. Moreover, the Central Government has no intention to close down the company,” Panda clarified.
He urged the people not to pay any heed to such misleading reports.
