Rayagada: A BTech student was found hanving inside a rented house in Barun Nagar Lane-1 under of Gunupur town in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Kaushik Mahapatra, a second-year Civil Engineering student at Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) University. The student, aged around 20 years, was reportedly a native of the Soro area in Baleshwar district.
According to information, the deceased was living alone in the rented accommodation. His body was found hanging inside the house.
A police team visited the site after receiving information about the incident. They recovered the body and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the death of the student.
His family members have been informed about the incident. Further details are awaited.
