Bhubaneswar: A bull ran amok and attacked several people in Patia area of Odisha capital, killing an elderly man and leaving around seven others injured.
According to reports, the animal was roaming the streets for the last two days, wreaking havoc in the area and triggering panic among people.
As the bull went berserk, it reportedly attacked an elderly man of Padmakesharpur locality of Patia after throwing him up in the air. The man, who sustained grievous injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead, they said.
The animal also attacked a woman near Patia Railway Station, inflicting serious injuries. The woman was admitted to a hospital where her condition was stated to be critical. Another young woman also sustained injuries in its attack.
At least seven persons were stated to have been injured in attack by the bull, while many narrowly escaped its wrath.
According to local residents, the animal has been on a rampage after it entered into a fight with another bull on Friday.
On being informed, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) swung into action and the bull was caught by a team and shifted to a safe enclosure.
