Kolkata: BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari threatened on Wednesday that bulldozers will run in West Bengal, like Uttar Pradesh.
Lashing out at the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), Bengal’s leader of Opposition appealed to the people to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Panchayat elections.
Having claimed multiple times about major threats looming for the ruling TMC government in the month of December, Adhikari made a U-turn and said his party will wait for the next election to seize power in the state.
“The BJP government will come to power after winning the elections.. not by poaching their MLAs. A nationalist government will be formed in Bengal. There will be a double engine government. Bulldozers will run in Bengal like in Uttar Pradesh,” he said at a rally in Kanthi.
Adhikari had earlier mentioned three dates (December 12, 14 and 21), claiming big developments will take place on these days.
On Wednesday, the MLA who beat Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram during last year’s West Bengal assembly elections, indicated that big things will happen next year.
“Days will change, the month will change… But the year will not change,” he said.
