Kendujhar: A gang of burglars made away with idols and silver ornaments from a temple of Lord Hanuman at Deogaon village under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district late on Saturday.
A temple priest discovered the theft after opening the temple gate early this morning. A complaint regarding the incident has been lodged with the local police.
The looted items included three brass idols and silver ornaments which were used for adorning the idols.
A similar incident was also reported from the district on February 26 after a group of unidentified miscreants looted cash and ornaments worth over lakhs from Durga temple near Keonjhar bus stand.
The incident came to the fore when priests of the temple found the locks of the hundi (donation box) broken.
