Bhubaneswar: Burglars allegedly decamped with around 20-gram gold jewellery and cash from a house at Shri Ganesh Vihar area near Infocity police station on Saturday night.
The owner, a senior citizen, discovered the loot this morning and informed police. “My wife and I slept around 11 pm last night. My wife found the bathroom door locked from inside after we woke up around 5 am. When I went outside the house to check, I found the bathroom window open. The burglars rummaged through the cupboard and looted the valuables. We suspect the loot took place between midnight and 4 am though I noticed no activity when I had woke up at around 3 am to pee,” said Bansidhara Gouda.
He further claimed that this is the second robbery in the area in the past 15 days.
