Sambalpur: Sambalpur Municipal Corporation sealed the Fire Brigade office in Burla here for seven days after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, said an SMC official.
As many as 15 employees have been instructed to stay in home quarantine as a precautionary measure. The SMC has already started contact tracing of the infected persons.
This is the first time in Burla town that a COVID warrior tested positive for the deadly virus.
Moreover, shutdown restrictions have been imposed for two days in some areas of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation.
Burla areas (from Ward-3 to Ward-7) under the SMC, barring the VIMSAR campus, are under complete shutdown during this period. The shutdown has been imposed in the five wards of Burla — Fandi Chhak, Gopabandhu Chhak, Board Colony, Telugu Pada, Gurudwar Colony, Contractor Colony, Gandhi Pada and Bhakti Mandap.
