Patna: A woman pilgrim from Odisha died while several others were injured after a tourist bus collided with a vehicle in Bihar’s Kaimur district in the early hours of Friday.
Police identified the deceased as Paali (45), a resident of Sonpur district.
According to reports, the accident took place around 3 am near Pachahganj on NH-2 when the bus collide with a another vehicle while overtaking. “All the passengers in the tourist bus hailed from Odisha. The incident took place when the pilgrims onboard the bus were on their way to Varanasi after doing the Pind Daan in Gaya,” Umesh Chandra Choubey, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), was quoted as saying by ANI.
The injured were admitted to Kudra primary health centre and those serious among them were then shifted Sadar Hospital for further treatment, the reports added.
