Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday reduced the bus fare for all categories under automatic fare adjustment mechanism following a fall in the price of diesel.
According to a notification issued by the Commerce and Transport Department, the fare for ordinary and express buses has been reduced by 1 paise per km while that of deluxe and AC deluxe buses by 2 paise per km.
The fare for ordinary buses will be 69 paise per km as against 70 paise while that of express buses will be 72 paise as against 73 paise per km, informed by the State Transport Commissioner,
Besides, deluxe category buses will now charge 99 paise per km as against Rs 1.01 per km, while passengers travelling in AC deluxe buses will pay Rs 1.21 per km as against Rs 1.23 per km earlier.
