Bhubaneswar: Bus fares were hiked in Odisha on Thursday in accordance with the automatic fare revision mechanism amid Rs 6.04 increase in fuel prices in the last 10 days.
The fare of ordinary and express category buses has increased by three paise per kilometre while that of deluxe buses and AC Delux have gone up by six paise per kilometre. The fare of premium buses has been hiked by nine paise per kilometre.
The fares after hike in different categories is as follows:
– Ordinary bus fare increased to Rs 0.90/km from Rs 0.87/km
– Express bus fare hiked to Rs 0.94/km from Rs 0.91/km
– Deluxe bus fare hiked to Rs 1.31/km from Rs 1.25/km
– AC Deluxe bus fare hiked to Rs 1.59/km from Rs 1.53/km
– Super Premium bus fare hiked to Rs 2.47/km from Rs 2.38/km
