Cuttack: More than 25 passengers sustained various degrees of injuries on Wednesday morning after a bus in which they were travelling overturned following a collision with a hyva truck in Odisha’s Cuttack district.
The incident occurred on Cuttack-Chandbali Road near Chhapolia.
According to reports, the private-run bus, carrying around 40 passengers, was moving from Aul towards Cuttack. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the wheels and collided with the hyva truck near Chhapolia. As a result of the collision, the bus overturned leaving at least 25 people injured.
Police arrived at the spot on being informed and rescued the injured people with the help of locals.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Some of the injured passengers were reportedly critical and shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
Meanwhile, local police registered a case in this connection and launched a probe into the matter.
