Bhadrak: An eight-year-old boy died after being run over by a bus in Bhadrak district on Monday.
According to reports, the deceased was the son of one Narendra Mohanty of Asurali Bazar under Dhushuri police limits.
Witnesses told police the boy was hit by a private bus when he was crossing the Bhadrak-Akhandalamani road.
Locals took the critically injured boy to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.
Following the boy’s death, irate locals staged a road blockade at the accident site.
Till reports last came in, police were trying to urge the agitators to call off the blockade.
