Tourist destinations in and around Sambalpur will get a connectivity boost now. The district tourism department along with Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha, Sambalpur (HRAOS) has come up with a plan to start bus tour packages here.
Due to lack of information, specially among foreigners, tourists often miss out on several scenic spots in this region. To cash in on the tourism growth, a 12-seater AC bus will initially be provided and its booking facility will be available at hotel desks.
The bus will start from Panthanivas Sambalpur, pick up tourists from nearby hotels, and head for Hirakud Dam, and cover Gandhi Minar, Dyke road, Debrigarh, Ghanteswari temple and Leaning temple of Huma in 5 hours. It will run once a day and the ticket will be priced at just Rs 300.
