Aska: Three persons, including a woman, died while four others were injured as a bus and pickup van collided head-on near Khadabhaga village on NH 59 in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Friday.
The deceased are yet to be identified.
According to sources, the accident took place around 11 am when the bus was en route to Berhampur from Aska with pick-up van travelling in the opposite direction.
On being informed, Aska Police and Fire Service personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. The pickup van was completely damaged in the mishap and had to be cut open to retrieve the trapped bodies. The injured have been admitted to nearby Community Health Centre.
