Bhubaneswar: Buses and bus stands will remain operational during the weekend shutdowns in 11 districts of Odisha, the State Transport Authority (STA) said on Thursday.
Besides, private vehicles and taxis will be allowed to ply to bus stands, railway stations and airports, it added.
On June 1, the state government had ordered two-day shutdowns in a week in 11 districts during June following the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy had said that Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore will remain shut on Saturdays and Sundays.
