Bhubaneswar: Police on Friday arrested a businessman for allegedly raping a girl in his house on the outskirts of capital city.
According to sources, the businessman, identified as Kishan Agarwal of Cuttack, had gone to a bar in Bhubaneswar on Thursday night. While Kishan was in the bar, he met a girl and both were engaged in talks for a long time.
Later, Kishan, who had taken a few pegs of drink, took the girl to his rented house at Pahala with her consent.
On Friday morning, the girl lodged a complaint at Pahala police station alleging that Kishan raped her while they were in his house on Thursday night. He committed the act in an inebriated condition, she stated.
Police registered a case against Kishan on the basis of the complaint and arrested him from his house at Pahala. Kishan has a business in Bhubaneswar, police said adding that he would be forwarded to court today.
