Businessman Robbed Of Jewellery In Bhadrak, One Held

Bhadrak: A businessman was robbed of jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees at Dhamnagar area in Bhadrak district on Saturday night.

According to available information, three motorcycle-borne miscreants intercepted the vehicle of Ratnakar Sahoo, the owner of Kanak Durga Jewellery shop, soon after he downed the shutter and was heading towards his house. They snatched away the bag containing gold ornaments worth over Rs 4 lakh from him and fled the spot.

The victim immediately informed Dhamnagar Police about the incident.

Police swung into action and managed to nab one of the looters from Sahapur Chhak with the help of locals after conducting simultaneous raids at different places in Dhamnagar and nearby areas. He was identified as Sangram Das.

Stolen gold ornaments and a motorcycle were recovered from his possession.

Efforts are on to nab two other miscreants who are still at large, police sources said.
