Konark: Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 8 lakh from a businessman at gunpoint on Nimapara road in Puri district on Tuesday.
According to sources, a group of five armed miscreants in two motorcycles intercepted the businessman. Pointing a gun at him, they asked for the money. When he refused to hand over the cash, the looters snatched away the bag and fled the spot.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a complaint at Nimapara police station.
Based on the complaint, police have started conducting raids at different places at Nimapara and nearby areas.
