Rourkela: A paddy trader was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Bagadega Bazaar under Bisra police limits in Rourkela of Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Haridarshan Sahu, a resident of Ballefta village in the district.
According to sources, three motorcycle-borne miscreants opened two rounds of fire at Sahu from close range and fled the place. He was hit on the chest.
Hearing gunshots, people rushed the spot and found the victim lying in a pool of blood. They rushed him to Bisra hospital for treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.
