Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police-Cuttack has launched a 24×7 helpline number to report street crimes, including snatching, harassment, public consumption of liquor and eve-teasing, in the Millennium city of Odisha.
The 24×7 mobile number is 7978894405.
According to a post on DCP Cuttack X handle, the residents can call or send WhatsApp on any street crime-related
issues on this number will remain functional in addition to ongoing control room number 112. “The call/WhatsApp message will be directly received in control room. The caller will be contacted within 15 minutes and ensure prompt action along
with logical disposal of the complaint within 24 hours,” it said.
The post further said that Additional DCP (Crime) Cuttack Anil Mishra would review the calls on daily basis. “He can be contacted for any complaint not resolved in 24 hours. We appeal to residents of Cuttack UPD to co-operate make this initiative a success,” the post added.
