Call On This STF Helpline Number To Curb Crime Against Wildlife

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force of the Crime Branch on Friday issued helpline number – 9439263646 – and requested the public to help them in checking wildlife crimes in Odisha.

Earlier in the day, the STF Crime Branch caught two alleged poachers and seized a leopard skin from them after striking a fictitious deal in Nayagarh.

To deal with the rise in cases of wildlife smuggling with the help of common man, the STF launched the number, said sources. The Crime Branch hopes it can nip the crime in the bud and end the organised syndicates thus saving many precious wildlife.

The CB has asked people to directly share information with the police by calling on the helpline number on matters related to crimes against wild. Anyone from any place in the state can use the number.

To ensure the safety of informer, name and other details of the callers would be kept secret.
