Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to cancel the driving licence (DL) of the people driving vehicles without wearing helmets.
In a letter, principal secretary, Commerce and Transport, Madhu Sudan Padhi asked the DGP to strictly enforce the traffic rules and cancel the DL of the traffic offenders under Section 194(b) of the Motor Vehicle Act.
He also asked the DGP to submit the district-wise report on the number of DL cancelled for the violation of the rules from 2019 to October 2020 for the appraisal of the Supreme Court Committee within a week.
