Bargarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday said that a cancer hospital will soon be set up in Bargarh district.
He made this announcement while addressing a gathering at Tukurla under Bhatli block, where he landed at noon in a chopper.
The Chief Minister said that the cancer hospital equipped with all modern equipment will be of immense help for people of western Odisha.
He later laid the foundation stones of a slew of development projects and inaugurated the new building of Bargarh district headquarters hospital
“The hospital will have an additional 300 beds. While the present bed strength is 125, it will go up to 425,” he said.
Naveen later inaugurated a new ‘Centre for Science’ in Bargarh town and distributed assistance to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.
During his visit to the district, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the 150th branch of ICICI bank at Bijepur.
